Low D Unicorn Tune

The world's largest collapsing low D whistle! It has a thumb hole on the back (to play the root note on the second octave). It's quite large, so most people need to use their pinkie to close the lowest hole — typical for flutes this size. It has a nice low tone and definitely won't go unnoticed when I open it up!

Okay, I dunno why but I always associate tin whistles with Xmas. So when I saw my flute was arriving early I was like “Yes! Ready for Xmas!” The sound is pretty good and as a woman with autism, I love the colors, the arrangement, the sound and feeling it makes when I open it. Everything about this flute just tickles my brain the right way. The one thing I would complain about…is my tiny hands lol but I’ll figure out the proper way to use my fingers. Kid me would go crazy over this thing. Would probably play when Xmas arrives

This thing is amazing! It is very close to being an alto recorder in terms of tone, range, and operation, but it collapses down to a size that will fit in your hand (around 3.5" x 2" or 90x50mm). It does not have the lowest hole of a recorder and the bottom hole it does have is too far to reach with a ring finger (use your pinkie). Despite the differences I was able to play it with just a minute or two of figuring it out.

I wasn't impressed with the sound the first time I blew it, but as I've learned how much air to give it that has improved considerably.

Overall, this is a practical instrument and not just a curiosity. And if you want a wind instrument you can easily carry around, I haven't seen anything that compares.
